Bike Fit FAQs - Welcome To RYD CC

How do I book?

Use the bike fit questionnaire on the website. This form is used to give us some basic information about you, your bike and your riding activities. Once we have received this we will give you a call to arrange a home visit.

You can also call us on 07923 214181

Can I come to you?

We are only offering home visits. This is due to change in the not too distant future.

What do I need when you come to do the fitting?

All you need to have is yourself, your bike, your shoes and be in your cycle clothing (cycling/bib shorts and jersey).

If your bike is already set up on a turbo trainer that’s great. Don’t worry if not as we will bring one anyway.

We will need some space to work around you and your bike whilst it is on a home trainer.

Do you do a basic bike fit to just check my saddle position and height?

We get this question quite a lot and the simple answer is no.

Any bike fit (whether basic or comprehensive) should include all of the riders contact points on the bike (5 on a road bike and 9 on a TT or Triathlon bike).

Just looking at one or two of these areas may not help alleviate any of the riders problems or issues.

How long is a fitting?

Most fittings are completed within 1.5 – 2 hours

What areas do you cover?

We cover an extensive area including Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

Please ask if you are unsure or live outside of this area for a quote. There may be a small addition charge.

How many bikes can you set up at once?

Additional bikes can be adjusted during the initial fitting for the same rider and are priced at £70 each.

We offer 10% discount for 2 or more bike fits at the same location ( e.g. for husband and wife)

Does this also include a bike service?

No.

However, your bike does need to be running properly in order for you to be getting the most enjoyment from it.

Whilst our bike fitting expert is with you they will be able to make sure your bike is road worthy (gears indexed, brakes working and in alignment and wheels true) and advice on broken and damaged parts will be given, all at no extra cost.

Do I need to know anything else before you come?

You will be required to ride for short periods of time so make sure you have a drink at the ready (just like you would if you were doing a home training session).

If you have completed the contact form and questionnaire we will have some knowledge of your goals and riding history and also have an understanding of any issues you may be having whilst on the bike (aches, pains or any injury history).

What if I need to postpone or cancel an appointment?

We’ll try and accommodate within reason as much as we can based on our schedule but should you need to change your booking, please give us as much notice as possible, 24 hours if possible, otherwise it may be subject to a fee

How do you take payment?

The fitting is to be paid for prior to it taking place and to confirm the appointment. Details will be sent to you on booking.
